Heres Your Sign
Hereâs Your Sign â" Itâs Time For Change Directions by Russ Allison Loar of Flickr I pursued the employment industry because I enjoyed matching people with opportunities and creating a win- win-win for the company, the candidate, and my firm. I moved into working one-on-one with job seekers because I gained invaluable knowledge that I knew many people needed to help them succeed; I wanted them to succeed. Being a great judge of character is a necessity to being a great recruiter. While I feel that I do have that talent, it was clear to me after several months that I would rather help these people than determine that they are not good enough to present to our clients. I stuck with it for several years, however. No regrets â" the years that followed provided me with even more experience and knowledge. There did come a time when I had to recognize that it was time to move on. In late 2005 after I was married, it seemed as though everything that I read or watched or overheard was intentional because most of it led me to the same conclusion: I needed to create something of my own to share this information and provide services for jobseekers in this area that no one else offered. From every different direction I was paying attention to inspirations, call them omens, that seemed to confirm that change was necessary. I even had a fortune cookie tell me that a change in vocation was coming. The help and encouragement of a career coach (Sheila Kutner) pushed me to bring my vision and mission to fruition. When I was a recruiter, it was frustrating to know that people who needed a job were standing in their own way by failing to understand how to market and sell themselves, how to be fair to themselves and the employer in negotiations, and how to do the right thing for everyone involved. As a career coach, I use my experience and expertise to motivate and teach people to target the right job and effectively market themselves for it so that they accelerate toward it. Still, I can only help the people who first recognize that changing their mindset and/or their activity is necessary to change their results. Many people insist on standing in their own way of happiness by not recognizing that a change is necessary, and worse yet, recognizing that a change is necessary and not empowering themselves to make that change happen. I do understand, to a point, the psychology behind not changing. It is difficult and scary. What if the forces that be decide that you are not good enough? What if there really isnât anything better out there? What if what you want isnât attainable? I have seen my loved ones emotionally and mentally beaten down by work environments in which hostility between colleagues is tolerated while appreciation and recognition are scarce. The longer that they stayed there, the more it was reinforced that they were a disposable commodity. It was as though they should feel fortunate to be employed. It hurt to watch people that I know are unique, important, and deserving of so much more made to feel small and insignificant. They became resigned. Once I was recruiting it hurt more because I knew what they needed to be happy and believed it was so attainable. Regardless, it still had to be their decision, their resolve, and their commitment that made it happen. These days it is even harder to c onvince people that they A) do not have to settle for a consolation job just because they need a job and B) they can actually prolong their search (and misery) by pursuing something for which they have little passion. Here are a few questions and answers that may indicate if it is your time to recognize the signs. 1. Are you regularly grumpy on Sunday evenings and every morning but Friday? If you answered yes, this indicates that you have anxiety about going to work. Everyone gets grumpy sometimes. Even people that love what they do will have times when they wish they were somewhere else. Timing and frequency are the factors that have the most weight in determining the cause of the grumpiness. 2. While you are at work, are you spending more time finding personal business to tend to rather than critical deliverables that your boss is expecting? While most people will admit that they tend to procrastinate from time to time, your job depends on your abilities to deliver. When you prioritize unimportant personal business ahead of what you need to do for you boss, that communicates that you only care enough to keep face, if you even care enough to do that. Your boss could very well be the problem and you may not be able to keep your position in that company and change your boss. You can certainly change something and you might as well. 3. When you come home from your workday, do you head straight for the television, your bed, or a drink? We all are expected to output more these days. It can be exhausting. This is why it is even more critical to do work for which you have passion. It will be energizing more than it will be draining and it will allow you to come home and tend to personal matters and relationships rather than spending hours decompressing and zoning out until you can sleep, wake up, and do it all over again. 4. Do you encourage your closest friends and family to NOT use your companyâs product or service? If this is the case, it has to be a definite sign that you are not contributing your days and hard work to a company that is going to survive! Find a product or service that means something to you and then find a position within that company that allows you to use your talents and abilities to further their progress while you further your career. 5. Are you just brimming with ideas that no one at your company seems to hear, let alone implement? Companies sometimes do not utilize the talent that they have to the fullest. This seems like such a waste of great energy and money! That goes for you, too, if you are staying there allowing all of these brainchildren to wither and die! You know we are here for you if you agree that it is high time that you found a job that lets you UNVEIL YOUR BRILLIANCE! www.charesume.com

11 Job Search Commandments For College Grads - Work It Daily
11 Job Search Commandments For College Grads - Work It Daily I love working with ongoing graduates in their pursuit of employment. I think there are two reasons why: 1.) After 12 years in school, they are specialists at learning - which makes showing them simpler. They're similar to wipes. They learn and do. They have no terrible pursuit of employment propensities, so instructing them is fun since I get the chance to see their response when they get positive outcomes just because. 2.) I graduated in the last downturn - and still recall what painful looking like for my first employment felt. Pursuit of employment For College Grads Stinks Right Now The standpoint for the current cluster of graduates is horrible. An ongoing article on Forbes had such a significant number of disheartening measurements about the jobless pace of undergrads and the uselessness of their degrees that I really couldn't complete the process of understanding it. (You can attempt to peruse it here in the event that you have the stomach.) I definitely realized things were terrible. I manage it all the time when helping new graduates secure positions. Truth be told, I can guess their thoughts. That is on the grounds that after graduation, there are 4 things that make graduates outrageously frantic. My responsibility is to assist them with moving beyond the outrage and get recruited. On the off chance that you know a school graduate, kindly give these 11 pursuit of employment charges to them. They are laws to live by in the following a half year as they set out on their next large test: Landing a vocation. #1 - I Will Not Compare Myself To My Friends No two alumni are the equivalent. Each has various aptitudes, capacities, needs, and needs. Because your companion finds another line of work, doesn't mean the individual in question is superior to you. Keep the blinders on and center around your pursuit, not theirs. Desire is a futile feeling that crashes a pursuit of employment. Moreover, they may have the option to assist you with finding a new line of work. It's to your greatest advantage to be really upbeat for them! #2 - I Will Not Take The Summer Off Try not to defer your pursuit of employment. Businesses consider it to be acting entitled and apathetic. Get in gear - at the present time! Trust me, you won't get a new line of work in the following fourteen days. Furthermore, pursuit of employment isn't a 8-hour/day gig. Cut out time each day to chip away at your pursuit of employment you'll despite everything have a lot of time to appreciate the late spring. Before the temperature chills off, turn your pursuit of employment accomplishment up! It's tied in with working shrewd, as with our specialists at CareerHMO. Cut Your Job Search Down the middle #3 - I Will Not Spend Weeks Designing My Resume Your resume won't land you the position, organizing is. Try not to sit around attempting to make your resume great. At this phase in your vocation, there simply isn't that much you can put on it to dazzle managers. The stunning factor will originate from you being shrewd, articulate, and drawing in - which doesn't come through on paper. You need to meet individuals to get that going. #4 - I Will Learn To Network... Quick! Systems administration is the most impressive approach to get employed. However, latest graduates accept on the grounds that they've never worked, they have nobody to connect with. Wrong! Individuals love helping ongoing graduates. Figure out how to educational meeting and set up the greatest number possible. The sooner you figure out how to arrange, the sooner you get employed. #5 - I Will Not Expect Too Much Of My First Job Most graduates feel they're overqualified for huge numbers of the passage level occupations posted. Be that as it may, most bosses feel you're definitely not. The hard the truth is you don't have the work understanding for anything other than section level occupations. The sooner you take a section level occupation and work at it for a half year, the sooner you can begin applying to the all the more energizing employments that are presently out of your scope. #6 - I Will Remember That EVERY Job Is Temporary While the passage level employment you take won't be your fantasy work, that is alright on the grounds that you won't be there long. You'll either, An) exceed expectations in the activity and get advanced. Or on the other hand, B) get understanding and have the option to go after a superior position. #6 is our mantra, which is the reason you generally need to improve. How I, a Raging Control Freak, Learned to Trust my Team with DARCI - Workology
How I, a Raging Control Freak, Learned to Trust my Team with DARCI - Workology How I Learned to Trust my Team with DARCI As the director of communications at a national nonprofit tech-y startup, the timeline on projects moves incredibly quickly. Coming from a Higher Ed background I didnât truly know what âfastâ meant until I joined the startup world. My first question to my team was: how do we keep moving at this pace, together, and not burn out? Being able to efficiently deliver solid, beautiful work is essential to our success. That Venn Diagram that has âcheap,â âfast,â and âgoodâ as options and tells you that you can only have two? Not going to cut it in the startup world. At the same time, my organization and I both put the people first. We believe deeply in wellness and personal growth. How can we make these ideas compatible? If each of your team members is running on 100, the entire infrastructure isnât going to hold up for very long, and we wonât be succeeding in supporting our employees as the creative individuals that they are. Recently, in an interview with the Yediot Aharonot newspaper, the founder of the multi-billion dollar company WeWork Adam Neumann said that he strictly observes Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest that spans 25 hours from Friday night to Saturday night, and that âthe real magic is that the more I do it, the more successful the company is. Go figure.â Taking time out for yourself, unplugging, can help you better succeed at work. What a relief. But how to ensure it across a team? How I Learned to Trust my Team with DARCI Enter the DARCI Accountability Grid. Sometimes called the DACI model and oft compared to the MOCHA model, this system has been a life changer, and certainly a tool for office success. DARCI defined, by the way my team uses it, is: Decider, Accountable, Responsible, Consulted, Informed. Every member on each project is assigned a letter, a role. The most heard question at the end of meetings is âWhoâs the A?â Like many companies, we have a lot of meetings. But weâre also made-up of individuals from across the country and most of my day is spent on video calls. Project management happens on all levels, by all departments, and assigning roles makes it crystal clear. The âDâ (Decider) is always the director of the department the project resides in, or the Executive Director herself. The âAâ (Accountable) is the most important role. While the D will be giving final approval, the A makes sure the project is keeping to its timeline and connects all the moving parts. There may be several people assigned âRâ (Responsible). Rs create the moving pieces that are put together by the A. The âCâ (Consulted) are often also multiple people. These people may not even be within the organization. Cs do not generate any work, but the work done by Rs may be shaped by conversations with the Cs. Lastly, âIâ (Informed) for us is the rest of the company. We like to keep everyone knowledgeable about the projects happening in all departments, so weekly we all meet for one to two hours to report on the current projects. To bring this to life for you, Iâll give you a concrete example. Recently, we decided to change the way we sent out our newsletters. We have eight different newsletters that go to eight different populations. I, as the director of communications, was the D. The communications manager was the A, each newsletter was assigned its own R, we decided our Cs were all of the other newsletters we loved and a few writers of other newsletters, and our whole team was the I. I assigned this project on August 1st with a September 1st deadline. For the full month of August I did not think or worry about this project. I was allowed to step back and focus on projects where I was the A or R. The communications manager (the A) had a few meetings with the Rs during the month, setting intermediate deadlines, and between those deadlines she too could take a step back to focus elsewhere. The Rs referenced the Cs, submitted their work to deadlines, and the A compiled it all for the final deadline. On Se ptember 1st I reviewed it, made a few tweaks, and then approved it, sending out a report to the full team (the I). At previous positions, though projects were not run so dissimilarly, I had a difficult time letting go of control. I wanted to see progress while it was happening, and be involved at each step. This meant I worked long, inefficient hours, as I was over-involved with everything my team did. Taking the time to thoughtfully assign roles to the team, roles that have clear expectations, means Iâve learned to trust the process, and trust my team. Starting with intention and boundaries through role assignment is not only a best practice, but it is essential when you are managing dozens of projects daily. By starting with the DARCI model, you will be well on your way to not only business success, but to happy, healthy, productive employees.

I Hated My Job Here are 5 Ways I Turned Around My Attitude About It
I Hated My Job â" Here are 5 Ways I Turned Around My Attitude About It No activity is great. Why? Flawlessness is a fiction. The vast majority have discovered an explanation or two to gripe about their activity. In my past jobs, Ive utilized the accompanying 5 hints to help with working environment difficulties and pivot my mentality about a terrible activity. 1. Get clear on your why.If you center around your motivation at your particular employment, you will:Have a feeling of satisfaction in your profession ,Develop a system for your vocation journey,And have the option to plan for your next profession moves. When you know your why, you will be in the drivers seat of your life and vocation expanding fulfillment and diminishing sentiments of sadness or absence of control.2. Make sound limits. Sound limits are vital. We need them in our own connections and in our vocation. At whatever point I have felt overpowered or exhausted at an occupation, it was on the grounds that I didnt set up sound limits with my associates or with my manager. In the event that you dont need to work until two in the first part of the day for your activity, at that point it is dependent upon you to tell your chief. In the event that you are being tormented busy working, it is dependent upon you to make some noise. Now and then you will be bothered at your specific employment. Contingent upon what you do, late evenings or end of the week work may happen intermittently. Be that as it may, in the event that you wind up continually working extended periods or managing continuous clash issues, it will be dependent upon you to change your story. 3. Take breaks. When you love what you do, work is a delight (regardless of how hard it is). In any case, we as a whole need parts from time to time. Why You Should Never Include References on a Resume + What to Do Instead
Why You Should Never Include References on a Resume + What to Do Instead Resumes and references are both common requests when youre applying for jobs, but that doesnt mean you should put your references on your resume. Your resume is all about you: what youve done, what youre capable of, and how to contact you. Its not necessary (or advisable) to put information for someone else on your resume. Why? Adding references on a resume is outdated and unprofessional. An employer expects you to have references, but that comes into play later in the hiring process. Employers will usually ask for references later in the interview stage or before they make an offer. Keep your list of references ready; just keep it off your resume. Another reason you shouldnt list references is because most companies use an Applicant Tracking System (ATS ) to scan your resume. Some ATS are programmed to email your references automatically and your application stays invalid until they respond. If this happens and your references dont respond, your resume wont ever be seen and youd never know. Check out this guide to ensure your resume gets past the Applicant Tracking Systems over 90% of employers use. When should you include references on a resume? You should never include references on a resume or a cover letter. Your references should be a separate page. The only time you should include a reference page with your resume is if the listing asks for one. You will find that most jobs donât; however, always double-check the instructions as to what the employer wants you to submit. How should you list your references? Your reference sheet should contain three to four professional references. You should always give your references a heads up before you hand in your reference sheet. The last thing you want is for your references to be caught off guard or even give an old number or email address. Ensure that the contact number and email is up to date for each of your references. (We wrote a great post on how a resume reference pageshould look like). Should you include references on a cover letter? No, you should never include references in a cover letter. If the employer asks for references, include them on a separate references page. Will the employer call the reference? There is no way to know whether an employer will reach out to your references. Just be sure that your references are aware that they may be contacted. Figure that there is a 50/50 chance that the employer will actually call. We wrote a good post here on exactly what they ask your references when they do call. So to sum it up under no circumstance should you include references or âreferences available upon requestâ on a cover letter or resume. Have a reference sheet ready if the employer asks for one and always give your references a heads up that they may receive a call. Good luck with your job search and donât forget that Zipjob provides expert resume services. You can even get a Free Review Here.

What Benefits Do Employees Really Want
What Benefits Do Employees Really Want A new trend thatâs been hitting the workplace in recent years is extreme employment perks. From in-house yoga classes to free lunch, companies in many industries are going above and beyond when it comes to providing employee incentives. However, these perks donât come cheap. Some professionals wonder whether extreme incentives are being provided at the expense of more practical benefits like higher pay, more vacation time and better health insurance. Weâll take a look at what type of benefits employees really want, and how you can make sure youâre providing the best perks for your workplace. Perks? What perks? If youâre looking around your office and wondering where the free massages or free gourmet meals are, youâre not alone. Most average businesses donât offer those kinds of extreme perks. So â" where are the perks? Think Silicon Valley. Big companies in tech pioneered extreme employee benefits, and theyâve continued to lead the way in recent years. Google employees get massages, free childcare and places to nap, while people who work for Scripps Health receive health insurance for their pets. AOL focuses on perks for parents, with services like prenatal classes as well as access to onsite daycare. Workers at Netflix, Best Buy and Evernote get unlimited vacation days. Those employed by Dropbox have Razor scooters to zip around the office more easily, not to mention fresh-squeezed juice, yoga classes and a made-to-order stir-fry bar. To attract the top talent, a number of companies are also beginning to offer game rooms that include physically and mentally engaging activities. People can take an hour to play foosball, darts, pool, or video games. They can bowl, play ping pong, or start a pickup basketball game. One extreme example? Employees at Quicksilverâs Huntington Beach can take time off during the workday to go surf. What employees really want These extreme perks certainly donât hurt â" after all, no one is going to say no to free lunch. But are they what employees really want? According to Entrepreneur, employees really value more basic perks. They want great medical insurance, including dental and vision plans. They want generous life insurance and retirement policies. Paid vacation time, sick time, and flexible scheduling are also important benefits. What else do employees want? Opportunities for professional development and continuing education. Salary raises and bonuses. More vacation days, and discounts on products and services. While most workers wonât turn down a free trip to a fabulous ski resort or lunch from a gourmet restaurant, employee surveys report that these over-the-top perks arenât the reason people show up to work. A 2014 Mercer survey reports that employees attach the most importance to extra time off and fatter paychecks. Adding money into retirement accounts and decreasing healthcare costs also made the top of the list. Less important? Gym memberships, financial planning assistance and tuition reimbursement. What you can do Companies use perks to keep morale high and employee turnover low. Elaborate benefits also impress top potential applicants, as well as help companies appeal to a larger pool of job seekers. The key? Making sure youâre providing the benefits that your employees want â" not what you think theyâll want. Think of your unique workforce and what they value. Do you employ a lot of working parents? Theyâll likely value childcare, paid time off and other related benefits. Young people, on the other hand, may be more attracted to âfunâ benefits like exercise classes or games. The only way to tell what your employees really want? Ask. Before implementing a new benefit or perk, poll your employees on what they want. That way, you know youâre spending your money on things your employees really value. Theyâll be happier â" and you may even find yourself saving money. Have you ever worked at a company with extreme benefits? What benefits and perks do you value most? Lessons You Will Learn the Hard Way Before You Succeed - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career
Lessons You Will Learn the Hard Way Before You Succeed - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career There are some lessons you can learn by reading books and some that you can only learn by experiencing. Unfortunately, those are the ones that you learn the hard way. Sure, you can also learn these lessons by listening to old and wise because they have already been where we are but most of the time we ignore them or donât listen to them carefully and forget their advice. Thus, we learn some of these lessons by living our lives and generally these cost us unpleasant experiences. Below you can find 3 of these lessons. Have a Clear Direction: You can succeed in anything you want but you need to have a clear direction. You need to know where you are headed. In this way, you can use your skills and abilities towards that direction. Also, be %100 committed to your goal. If you want to get what you want, you need to commit all of your time and energy to it. Otherwise, you cannot succeed. For example; if you think that you will try out your new idea for a few months and continue only if it works, then, you cannot be successful because you are not committing all of your mind to it. Donât Trust Everyone: You may be a kindhearted person and think everybody has a good heart like yours. Unfortunately, this is not true. People will always disappoint you especially the ones that are close to you the most. People are selfish and jealous by nature and therefore, once they find an opportunity to stab you in the back, they will probably do it. Still, you need others throughout your life so you need to learn how to manage your relationships and whom to trust for what. Money cannot be your sole motivation: Money is just an intermediary to help you reach your needs and it cannot be your major motivation. A lot of people want to be successful because they want to be very rich. However, this cannot get you far. You can only be successful if you solve other peopleâs problems. If you create a value for others, then you get your reward which is earning more money and getting rich. However, you have to focus on helping others first. The most successful organizations in the world are the ones that make a change in other peopleâs lives. If you can touch othersâ lives, then, you can become very successful and get your reward for it.

Students Greed is Good
Students Greed is Good [one_fourth last=no]as a Placement Officer you have to look at the bigger picture and recognise that your responsibilities lie not just with your students.-Placement Officer[/one_fourth]As a Placement Officer, you look forward to your students informing you that they have secured their placement. These are the precious moments where you know that youâve done a good job and can move onto the next student who requires your assistance. Or at least that is what you hope. Multiple Interview Opportunities After offering congratulations and finding out all the relevant details of the placement, my next line of questioning relates to any outstanding applications that the student has made. For the vast majority, this is simply a question of tying up loose ends. If an employer contacts them for an interview, politely decline explaining that they have now secured a placement elsewhere and so are no longer available. This leaves things on good terms for the future, particularly if the student wants to pursue opportunities with that organisation later on in their career. Where my stomach turns, is when a student says they have interviews coming up in the next couple of weeks with Company B and Company C, despite already having signed a contract with Company A. This is a scenario that is thankfully uncommon, but is one that presents a dilemma for a Placement Officer. The Bigger Picture On the one hand, you want your students to find the right placement for them. For the next 12 months they will be undertaking the first steps in their professional career and the experience should be one in which they can flourish. However, as a Placement Officer you have to look at the bigger picture and recognise that your responsibilities lie not just with your students. If an employer has a negative experience from one of my students, it does not reflect well on the University. We build relationships over the long term with placement providers to ensure that our students have a wide range of opportunities available to them. If one of our students performs a u-turn after signing a contract, it could easily sour the relationship with the employer. At a time when universities across the country are branching out into placements ahead of the 2012 tuition fees, these are employers that we can dearly afford to lose. Worth The Risk? For the student, it is also a question of professionalism. Were the roles to be reversed and a company continued to interview until they found a better candidate, the student would rightly be outraged at having their placement taken away from them. I am sympathetic towards students who find themselves in this situation. In a perfect world, having spent long hours making applications you obviously would want to see all of your options before making a decision. However, once you have accepted a placement offer and signed that contract, it is time to step back from the recruitment process. At this early point in their career, is it worth the risk of getting blacklisted by recruiters for the sake of touting for a better offer? I would say not. Comment below what you think about attending interviews after one has been offered a placement. Is it being competitive or ethical? 3

How to Coach Yourself to Success - Classy Career Girl
How to Coach Yourself to Success Professional coaching is growing in popularity. Some of the most successful people you know most likely have coaches. In fact, Iâve heard it said that Oprah Winfrey has four coaches. She has a coach for every area of her life she wants to improve upon. From health coaches to life coaches to career coaches and more you can undoubtedly find a professional with the expertise to help you transform your life. I wholeheartedly believe there is value in partnering with a person who is committed to your success and trained to help you accomplish your goals. But what if youâre in between coaching sessions or just not ready to take the plunge? Donât fret. Iâve outlined my top three techniques designed to help you coach yourself to success. I use these very strategies with my clients and you can use them too. How to Coach Yourself to Success 1. Dig Deeper The first technique is what I call Dig Deeper. Sometimes we canât quite pinpoint what we want or why we want it. Dig Deeper will help you get to the root of your issue. Hereâs how it works: Think about an area of your life you want to improve. Write it down. Next, ask yourself, âAnd what else?â It would go something like this, I donât like my job. And what else? Iâm bored and I donât feel challenged. And what else? I used to feel engaged and challenged at work before I switched teams. And what else? I miss the work I used to do. You keep digging until youâve âemptied outâ as we like to call it in the coaching field. You keep going until there is nothing else. Again, this helps you identify what you really want. This technique was used with a woman who originally said her problem was her weight. The Dig Deeper exercise revealed that she was unhappy in her marriage and was overeating to compensate for that dissatisfaction. Hopefully, you can see how important it is to understand whatâs hiding beneath the surface. Without this exercise, this woman would have put a ton of energy into weight management when her primary focus should have been centered around improving her relationship with her husband. 2. Ask Yourself 3 Questions As you start to coach yourself, ask yourself these three questions: What worked well? What didnât work so well? What will I do differently (or similarly) next time? This works well as a check-in for a recurring activity. If youâre actively interviewing, immediately after you leave an interview you can write down the answers to these three questions. The same thing applies with sales calls. You leave a sales appointment and you answer the three questions. Or maybe you are looking to lose weight. At the end of each day you can journal your responses to the questions. This is super valuable because you have a record of your strengths and weaknesses that you can refer to at any time. Before your next interview or sales call you can review your notes from the last time. It positions you to improve with each interview, event, or milestone. As time goes on the things that used to show up in the didnât work so well category will shift to the what worked well category. Your habits and skills naturally improve as you pay diligent attention to them. 3. Right Now Technique The last technique is Right Now. Itâs not uncommon to hear someone say that they are stuck. However, there is always something you can do that does not depend on anyone but you. There are things that you donât need any money for. You donât need another personâs buy in or contribution in any way. In these instances, the only thing holding you back is you. Whenever you feel stuck ask yourself, âWhat can I do right now to move my situation forward?â Your answer might be to apply for jobs or to make a phone call. If you keep doing what you can do, you will consistently be making progress little by little. Little progress develops into big progress. There you have it my top three techniques for coaching yourself to success. I want to leave you with one last tip. If you were to work with a professional coach you would have regular, scheduled meetings with him or her. As an example, I meet with my fitness coach every Saturday at 10am. Thatâs our schedule. Since youâll be coaching yourself you will want to have a standing appointment with yourself. You will use this time to stay on top of your goals, monitor your progress, map out action items, and make adjustments to your plan. I like to start these appointments with the 3 Questions exercise. So Iâll start with, âbetween the last appointment and now what worked well?â Congratulations! You are ready to coach yourself towards success. Go ahead and schedule a standing meeting with yourself. Put it in your calendar and commit. This is a must for accountability and structure. Buy a notebook to keep track of your progress and to complete the exercises. And lastly, go do something to move your life forward right now. Yes, right this moment!
